Tupac Shakur's mom Afeni Shakur Davis bites the dust at 69


Afeni Shakur Davis, mother of fabulous rapper, Tupac Amaru Shakur has kicked the bucket at 69 years old, as indicated by new reports.

The news that the humanitarian,, political activist and American businesswoman passed at her home on Monday night was affirmed by Marin County Sheriff’s Department in California to Channel 2 Action News.

The real reason for her demise has yet to be  ascertained, yet it is being accounted for she endured a possible cardiac arrest.

Afeni, conceived Alice Faye Williams in 1947, was the subject of one of Tupac's iconic songs 'Dear Mama' and oversaw his posthumous legacy. 

She was a member of the Black Panthers and served 11 months in jail, during which time she was pregnant with the future rap star.

She served as her own defense attorney and was acquitted of numerous counts, earning release from jail shortly before Tupac’s birth in June 1971.

One year after his shooting demise in 1996, she established the Tupac Amarachi Shakur Foundation, which champions youth arts programs, and oversaw his unreleased material. 

A biopic on the late rapper, ‘All Eyes On Me’ is currently being filmed, with Danai Gurira reportedly playing Afeni in the film.
