Will Stephen Keshi be buried beside his wife in Benin?
Kate Keshi, died on the December 9, 2015 in the US after a long battle with cancer. She was laid to rest on January 15 at her husband’s house in Ugiokhuen Quarters, Ugbor, GRA, in Benin.
The couple got married in 1983 during Keshi’s playing days at the then New Nigerian Bank Football Club.
Meanwhile the first son of the late Nigeria captain and coach Stephen Keshi, Stephen Keshi Jnr, has expressed surprise at the announcement of burial plans for his father.
Speaking to This Day when he arrived in the country, ‘I just came into Nigeria on Tuesday night, and we read in the papers today that somebody has fixed a date for the burial.’
‘I am shocked like my sisters and my brothers. Since our father died, nobody has spoken to us about how he died, and we have not even seen his corpse. Yet, someone is fixing a date for his burial!”
The Big Boss is survived by four children and his mother.
